Hattersheim, 10. Aug. 2023 – Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation mbH now also offers a protocol stack for Open Modbus/TCP for its ultra-compact chip carrier netRAPID 90. The specialist for industrial communication technologies is thus making its already flexible multiprotocol embedded module even more versatile. The netRAPID 90 comes fully tested and with a preloaded stack.
“With the release of Open Modbus/TCP for netRAPID 90, we’re offering our customers even more flexibility in how they use their field devices,” says Simon Fischer, Product Manager Embedded Modules at Hilscher, as he elaborates on the advantages of the added protocol. “Because our solution is ready-to-integrate and enables fast time-to-market, the release paves the way for entering new global markets without exorbitant development costs.”
netRAPID 90 acts as a slave interface, supports fieldbus, Real-Time Ethernet and IoT protocols in one design and is soldered to the motherboard like a standard QFP component. With its ultra-compact size of just 15 x 32 mm and extended temperature range, the module is suitable even for small sensors or robotic components. The energy-efficient chip carrier features minimal power dissipation and is currently available for PROFINET, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, PROFIBUS, DeviceNet and now also Open Modbus/TCP. In addition, preloaded modules with POWERLINK, CANopen, Sercos and CC-Link IE Field Basic are already waiting in the wings.
