Das Kommunikationsmodul comX ist eine universelle Lösung, um Geräte mit Master- oder Slave-Funktionalitäten auszurüsten. Es wurde für die Integration in Automatisierungsgeräte wie Robotersteuerungen, speicherprogrammierbare Steuerungen oder Antriebe entwickelt, um diese mit einer Netzwerkschnittstelle auszustatten. Auf dem steckbaren Modul sind alle für den Betrieb notwendigen Komponenten bereits integriert. Dabei führt es alle Kommunikationsaufgaben autark auf dem Modul aus – unabhängig vom Prozessor der Zielplattform.
comX unterstützt neben den traditionellen Feldbus- auch alle führenden Real-Time-Ethernet-Protokolle als Master oder Slave und erfüllt alle netzwerkspezifischen Anforderungen in nur einem Modul. Protokollwechsel führen Sie schnell und zuverlässig durch das Laden einer entsprechenden Firmware und einer Softwarelizenz für Master durch. Der Austausch der Prozessdaten erfolgt über ein Dual-Port-Memory, auf das entweder mit einem 8-/16-Bit breiten Datenbus oder einer 50 MHz schnellen SPI-Schnittstelle zugegriffen wird. Alle Module sind pinkompatibel und haben eine identische Softwareschnittstelle.
