Enable IIoT capabilities for PROFINET systems with an intelligent IO device
The platform-independent netFIELD App PROFINET Device container enables host devices with netX support, such as edge gateways, to exchange real-time process data with a PROFINET controller and access it via an MQTT message bus.
The PROFINET IO configuration is based on a GSDML file uploaded by the user, defining IO modules and specific parameters like DeviceID and VendorID. Through the integrated MQTT client, the app publishes and subscribes to PROFINET data in JSON format over two MQTT topics.
The app makes it easy to upgrade PROFINET systems with IIoT services by providing real-time insights and access to physical processes controlled by the PROFINET controller, enabling smart services like predictive maintenance and productivity optimization.
Under the netFIELD brand, Hilscher also offers additional communication containers, edge device platforms, and a cloud-based remote management solution for devices and containers.
