TOP 100: Hilscher is one of the innovation leaders for 2018

Überlingen – The TOP 100 competition has selected the most innovative SMEs in Germany for the 25th time. Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation mbH is among these innovation leaders this year.
This was the result of the analysis carried out by the scientific director of TOP 100, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke. As the mentor of TOP 100, Ranga Yogeshwar will honor the company from Hattersheim together with Prof. Franke and compamedia at the award ceremony in Ludwigsburg on 29 June 2018 during the 5th. German SME Summit. In the independent selection process, the company, which has 200 employees, particularly impressed the panel in the "Innovation Success" category.



Industrial communication is dependent on the interaction of external systems. Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation mbH specializes in meeting this need and develops technologies and hardware for modern factory automation. The products of the top innovator from Hattersheim in the Federal German state of Hessen are used throughout the world and enable communication between automation devices and controllers.

The latest innovation from Hilscher is an intelligent network controller for real-time Ethernet systems. Tried-and-tested field bus and real-time Ethernet systems are therefore implemented in the minimum amount of space. The controllers can be used for any type of application in the sphere of factory automation thanks to their diversity and flexibility..


In addition to this, the TOP 100 company creates the prerequisites for secure data transfer from devices and installations to the Cloud with its innovation "netIOT". This novel system includes the interface in the field device, the appropriate gateway and secure communication from the sensor to the Cloud.

TOP 100: the Competition


Since 1993, compamedia has awarded its TOP 100 seal of approval to SMEs having a special ability to innovate and with above-average success rates for innovations. Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke has served as Scientific Director of this project since 2002. Franke is the founder and Director of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. The TOP 100 is mentored by the science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar. The Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research and the German Association of Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW) are project partners.
