HATTERSHEIM, 03/26/2021 - Hilscher and the German CENTRUM INDUSTRIAL IT (CIIT) have signed a strategic partnership at Germany’s first science-to-business-center for industrial automation. Setting up a new company location with three new employees in the city of Lemgo, Germany’s leading supplier for industrial communication solutions will be developing new solutions for automation technologies with all partners on-site. Start of the cooperation is scheduled to start in mid-2021.
"We are very pleased that we were able to attract Hilscher to our network and that they even want to set up operations at our site,” states Anja Moldehn, chief executive officer (CEO) of the CIIT, adding that Hilscher was a "perfect complement" to the already existing partners of the science to business center and that the company’s know-how would bring it “one step further”.
The family-led company from Hattersheim near Frankfurt will provide its extensive knowledge in safe industrial communication and automation to the CIIT. In return, Hilscher is going to profit from synergy effects created by a better customer intimacy as well as a direct connection to end users and students of the TH OWL. Realistic applications of technologies as well as examinations and presentations of results from research projects will be showcased on-site at the SmartFactoryOWL, a joint facility by the renowned Fraunhofer research institute and the TH OWL.
"With the expansion of our innovation teams at CIIT, we aim to develop innovative technologies from an application perspective together with our partners and customers on site. Utilizing on-site knowledge transfer, we will develop solutions that will be tested with the CIIT-partners in real plants and iteratively approach an ideal result," explains Immanuel Blocher, Innovation Technology Group Leader at Hilscher and responsible for the company’s cooperation with CIIT.
Hilscher is also eager to establish new cooperations resulting from the direct connection to competitors already working together with the CIIT. Real-Time Ethernet, cloud solutions or new fieldbus products, the opportunities for innovations are abundant.
"The local conditions are simply unique. In the past, we have already worked with eight different companies partnering with the CIIT and now we would like to expand these cooperations as well as establishing new contacts," adds Hans-Juergen Hilscher, senior CEO of Hilscher.
