Product Vision, Strategy & Roadmap

  • Develop, refine, and communicate the product vision in close collaboration with Product Management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Derive a clear product strategy and maintain the team and product roadmap.
  • Prioritize topics based on customer value, business value, technical risk, cost, quality, and company objectives.
  • Prepare Program Increment (PI) Planning and participate in Product Management and Program Backlog Refinements.

Requirements Engineering & Backlog Management

  • Gather, analyze, and structure requirements from the market, customer projects, Product Management, Hardware Development, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Support.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into epics, features, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria.
  • Create, maintain, and continuously prioritize the Product Backlog.
  • Ensure that backlog items are clear, traceable, actionable, and ready for the development team to work on.
  • Accept or reject deliverables based on defined acceptance criteria.

Agile Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with developers on sophisticated electronic assemblies, complex PCB layouts, and hardware-related system requirements.
  • Assess requirements related to high-speed interfaces such as HyperRAM, Gigabit Ethernet, and PCIe, as well as EMC, environmental conditions, mechanical design, power supply, and space constraints.
  • Help resolve trade-offs between technical solutions, manufacturability, component availability, cost, quality, and time-to-market.
  • Foster collaboration across Electronics, Mechanics, Firmware/Software, IIoT, Manufacturing, and Purchasing.
  • Participate in Sprint Planning, Reviews, Refinements, and other SAFe-/Scrum-related activities.
  • Clarify functional and technical questions during implementation and help the team set priorities.
  • Communicate delivery timelines, deliverables, decisions, risks, and dependencies transparently.
  • Act as the central interface between the development team, Product Management, Epic Owners, the Program Management Office, and other stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve the product, collaboration, and development processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Requirements Engineer, or in a comparable product-focused role, ideally in an industrial or hardware-related environment.
  • A practical understanding of the development of sophisticated electronic assemblies and products designed for series production.
  • Experience with agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban, as well as roadmap, backlog, and prioritization activities.

Technical Expertise

  • A solid understanding of hardware development, PCBs, EMC requirements, mechanical design, power supply, manufacturing processes, component availability, and cost considerations.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication and automation, for example fieldbus and Real-Time Ethernet environments.
  • Experience with Altium Designer and SolidWorks is an advantage, but not a requirement.
