  • Get familiar with the netX90 host interface and how to implement software communication with the controller.
  • Set up and work with the netX90 toolchain, including development, configuration, and debugging tools.
  • Gain insight into project planning through integration cost and effort estimation.
  • A master simulation test tool is demonstrated to validate designs and simulate industrial communication scenarios.
  • Build confidence to independently plan and execute a netX90-based integration in real-world applications.
Benefits:
  • Accelerated Integration: Save time and avoid pitfalls by learning directly from experts how to design in the netX90 efficiently.
  • Hands-On Experience: In a live demonstration of netX Studio, plugins, configuration examples, and a debug session will be presented to illustrate practical workflows.
  • End-to-End Understanding: Get a complete overview—from hardware design to software interface and testing—for a smoother product development journey.
  • Improved Development Planning: Learn how to realistically estimate the effort and cost of integrating netX90 into your project.
  • Confidence in Design Decisions: Make informed hardware and software architecture choices based on real-world application scenarios.
  • Access to Tools & Resources: Work with official Hilscher tools and also 3rd party tools like a master simulation test tool to receive guidance on their usage.
  • Networking & Support: Interact with Hilscher experts and fellow developers, and get direct answers to your design questions.
  • Certification of Participation: Validate your knowledge with a certificate recognizing your hands-on training in netX90 integration.

Recommended Skills & Setup

  • Basic knowledge of embedded systems - Participants should be familiar with microcontrollers, real-time processing, and peripheral integration.
  • Understanding of digital hardware design - Experience with schematics, PCB layout, or component selection is recommended for the hardware design-in parts.
  • Programming experience - As the workshop involves working with embedded firmware and host interfaces, basic to intermediate programming knowledge is expected.
  • Bring your own project - We encourage participants to come with a real or planned project idea where they intend to use the netX90 Industrial Ethernet controller.
  • (Optional) Laptop – A Windows-based system in case participants wish to follow the installation of the demonstrated tools.
