Single-pair Ethernet, as a new initiative to enable IP based networks to each sensor, adds value through thinner cabling, small footprint plugs and connectors and less space requirements. For that reason, it is suitable to replace numerous existing fieldbuses in the sensor and peripheral area by integrating sensors directly to IT- and Cloudsystems.
This Blogseries discusses the status and progress of single-pair Ethernet from Hilscher’s point of view.
Hilscher announces new motion control capabilities for its netX 90 multiprotocol network chip. netMOTION is a firmware-configured communications solution with built-in motor control for applications in networked factory and process control systems, assembly, packaging, robotics and more. With netMOTION, developers get Real-Time Ethernet connectivity and general-purpose motor and motion control in a single-chip solution, which simplifies designs and reduces material costs.
Covid-19 and the associated travel restrictions encourage uncharted paths in the exhibition and event industry. While attendance fairs were one of the best ways for the automation industry to hold interesting discussions, everything is now shifting to the digital world. An innovative approach to providing such a platform is the first completely virtual SPS Connect, which will take place from 24 - 26.11.2020. Its aim is to bring exhibitors and trade visitors together digitally for a professional exchange.
