Hilscher celebrates 20 years of market leading industrial communication in Japan

Tokyo, 12. Nov. 2025 – Hilscher Japan has celebrated its 20th anniversary. Since its founding in 2005, the Japanese office of Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation mbH has played a key role in bringing flexible, secure and reliable industrial communication solutions to one of the most advanced automation markets in the world.

Over the past two decades, Hilscher Japan has established strong partnerships with leading machine builders, component manufacturers, and system integrators across the country from various industry branches, such as:

  • Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
  • Robot controls
  • Servo drives

Through its expertise in industrial communication – from the field level to cloud connectivity—the company has supported customers in implementing modern and future-ready automation infrastructures.

As we look to the two decades, Hilscher Japan remains committed to advancing industrial communication technologies that drive efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability in manufacturing. We are proud to be one of the pioneers with our netX technology, which is used in millions of networks nodes globally to this date – and the number is growing every day. This shows, that together with our customers and partners, we have built trusted relationships based on quality, reliability, and innovation.

Automating the Japanese industry with netX and netFIELD

Today, Hilscher Japan continues to expand its portfolio with advanced solutions for industrial communication and IIoT and edge computing, based on Hilscher’s multiprotocol-capable core technology netX and its IIoT platform for device management and data acquisition netFIELD.
“Customers especially relish our one-for-all concept for industrial communication. We provide everything – from hardware to software, support and tools all the way to accompanying services. This helps customers to implement their industrial communication solutions with less cost as well as reduced risk in development and an overall shorter time to market,” explains Managing Director Ito. “Our technologies enable the secure and efficient exchange of industrial data in key markets such as robotics, semiconductors and automotive.”

Looking to a smart and connected future

In the future, Hilscher Japan will increasingly focus on advancing device management and data acquisition in the Industrial Internet of Things. With the netFIELD, the company aims to provide a robust foundation for scalable and secure IIoT infrastructures – enabling customers to efficiently connect, monitor, and manage their devices and data across entire production environments.

At the same time, cybersecurity is becoming ever more critical. Hilscher addresses this growing demand through the continuous enhancement of its netX technology, integrating advanced security mechanisms already at the hardware level to ensure trusted, future-proof industrial communication.
