New Open Modbus/TCP and POWERLINK protocol stacks for netRAPID 90 released
Hattersheim, 12. Dec. 2024 – Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation mbH (Hilscher) has released three new protocol stacks for the netX 90 based embedded module netRAPID 90:
- Open Modbus/TCP
- IoT Solution Firmware for Open Modbus/TCP (with OPC UA and MQTT)
- POWERLINK Controlled Node
This extends the possible range of applications for customers when developing their own industrial communication solution using the latest embedded module by the German automation expert headquartered near Frankfurt.
Previously, netRAPID 90 already covered the following protocol standards for device applications:
- PROFINET
- EtherCAT
- EtherNet/IP
- PROFIBUS
- DeviceNet
- IoT Firmware for PROFINET Device (with OPC UA & MQTT)
- IoT Firmware Ethernet/IP Adapter (with OPC UA & MQTT)
netRAPID 90 acts as a device interface, supports fieldbus, Real-Time Ethernet and IoT protocols in one design and is soldered to the motherboard like a standard QFP component. With its ultra-compact size of just 15 x 32 mm and extended temperature range, the module is suitable even for small sensors or robotic components.
In addition to the three protocol stacks, Hilscher also updated the download package for the netRAPID 90 embedded module. The download package helps customers to quickly develop own automations solutions, equipping their machines and devices directly with secure and flexible communication interfaces. It contains, among other things:
- Start-up guides
- Detailed documentation
- Device drivers
- Latest firmware versions
- Configuration tools
