Hilscher underlines IIoT strategy – Thomas Rauch becomes new CTO

Hattersheim, 17. Aug. 2022 – Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation mbH is strengthening its technical expertise on the management team by welcoming Thomas Rauch as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

At Hilscher, Rauch is primarily responsible for the hardware, chip, software and cloud segments. The engineer, who has a passion for technology, will also be supporting the Hattersheim-based industrial communications specialist in the implementation of its strategy for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

"As digitalization progresses, boundaries between industries are becoming increasingly blurred," explains Rauch. "That makes it particularly important to offer customers standardized platforms on which they can develop simple but functional solutions. It’s also why our employees are involved in a wide range of committees and organizations aimed at promoting the necessary standards and guidelines as a booster for digitalization."

Rauch emphasizes that it is important to meet his customers and partners "on an equal footing". As a medium-sized company, it can engage with the needs of customers in much greater detail, and create transparency about the development of joint projects. "With both our product portfolio and our services, we offer comprehensive solutions in this regard that our larger market partners simply cannot achieve," says Rauch.

The 41-year-old speaks from experience, both operationally and strategically. In addition to his skills in software engineering, he also comes with over ten years of experience in the management and establishment of agile engineering teams, and is a consultant for the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Most recently he was employed as a value stream owner for software products at FNT GmbH in Ellwangen/Jagst.
