TOP 100 Award: Ranga Yogeshwar honors Hilscher for innovative achievements

Hattersheim, 04. Jul. 2024 – The science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar has congratulated Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation mbH on being awarded the TOP 100 prize. He presented Hilscher Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sebastian Hilscher and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Thomas Rauch with the coveted trophy at the German SME Summit. In the scientific selection process, Hilscher was particularly outstanding in the category "Innovation-promoting top management". This is the second time that the company has been one of the top innovators in Germany.

Hilscher enjoys an excellent reputation as a leading technology and solution provider in the field of industrial communication. To continue to live up to this reputation, the innovation-oriented top management constantly promotes the creation of something new. CEO Sebastian Hilscher is also personally committed to this. After all, the aim is to ensure that machines around the world can continue to communicate with each other automatically, quickly and securely in the future.

"We put great emphasis on the integration of an agile framework by our top management," explains Sebastian Hilscher. The CEO has been at the helm of the company, which employs more than 400 people at 13 locations worldwide, since 2020. It was Hilscher who introduced the "Scaled Agile Framework" and organized the first major planning meeting at the beginning of 2024. More than 200 developers come together once every three months at the headquarters in Hattersheim am Main.

Experimental days for employees

In addition to these planning meetings, the regularly held "Experimental Days" also promote innovation. With these, the top management offers employees a platform to investigate new trends and their positive impact on processes and products. "For us as a medium-sized technology company, innovations are an integral part of our day-to-day business and our corporate strategy anyway," explains the CEO, who owns the company together with his father and sister. As a result, more than half of the workforce works in innovation-driven areas and the company invests an above-average amount compared to the rest of the industry. The current focus is on the development of a new generation of chips with which innovations can be integrated into the smallest of spaces by machine builders, device manufacturers and system operators.

Hilscher – empowering communication

We put great emphasis on the integration of an agile framework by our top management, which we use to promote innovation. For us, these are an integral part of our day-to-day business and our corporate strategy.

Fostering motivation and innovation

Because the top management is actively involved in all innovation processes, the company always has its finger on the pulse when it comes to data traffic in production facilities. The management also initiates further training measures on artificial intelligence, digitalization and modern working methods. It is convinced that the motivation and innovative strength of its employees can be promoted above all by them gaining their own experience through actively practising and trying things out. This also keeps the innovation department of the medium-sized company busy, as it pools good ideas in order to realize them across teams.
