AutomationML General Assembly: More Efficient Engineering Through Open Standards
Hattersheim, 8 May 2026 – Hilscher Gesellschaft für Systemautomation mbH hosted this year’s general assembly of AutomationML e. V. at its headquarters in Hattersheim.
Representatives from industry, mechanical engineering, and software development met to advance the open, XML-based AutomationML standard and address specific requirements from real-world applications.
AutomationML enables seamless, cross-vendor data exchange throughout the engineering process. Machine builders, system integrators, and operators reduce interface complexity, avoid data silos, and accelerate commissioning.
At the same time, the standard improves data consistency across the entire lifecycle of a plant—from planning to operation. This creates the foundation for more efficient projects, lower error rates, and better scalability of automation solutions.
Hilscher is committed to supporting the digital transformation of the European industry, and as such we are proud to be the host this year’s AutomationML membership general assembly as well as the spring Technical Advisory Council meeting of the AutomationML association.
At this year’s general assembly, we discussed critical steps for a better-integrated and digitally seamless automation industry as well as the current technical advancements and augmentations of the established AutomationML standard.
For us as technology leader in industrial communication, the AutomationML communication model is the benchmark for a digital network model.
